Airbrush Tips And Tricks

Airbrushing is a way of painting using a brush that sprays the paint onto the paper of other surface. Usually the air comes from a compressor. Many airbrush artists work freehand and others use stencils and templates. There is a new kind of airbrush technique based on Mexican spray paint art which uses plates, newspaper, and other surprising household materials to create new kinds of airbrush effects.

There are many kinds of airbrush tips and tricks used to get different kinds of airbrush effects. For example you can hold the brush at different lengths and angles from your paper or canvas to get different kinds of effects. You can mix your paint differently and can use opaque, transparent, iridescent, fluorescent and many other types of paint to get different effects.

There are many good ways to make a living as an airbrush artist. Many airbrush artists do illustration work, work in fairs painting t-shirts. I think one wonderful way to make a living as an airbrush artist is to paint people's cars, motor homes, motorcycles and other vehicles. You can often create an agreement with your local auto body shop to find clients and they make money glossing your work. Everybody wins. Other options are gallery work and street painting. Up till now, most airbrush street artists have been limited to t-shirt work and similar but now there are new airbrushing videos tutorials with new techniques that allow the airbrush artist to speed paint landscape and cosmic art in minutes for an audience.

Learn How to Airbrush

What you need to get started:

It's great if you can draw, but it's not absolutely necessary. There are techniques that use plates, bowls and newspaper that are based on Mexican spray paint art that do not require any drawing skill to learn. In fact, they teach you about drawing without you actually realizing you are learning! There are airbrushing videos tutorials and classes to teach you these new techniques.

Practice

All skills require much practice to master and this includes airbrushing. The important thing is that the practice doesn't feel like practice, that's it's so fun that you just enjoy yourself! The first step is to get your equipment set up and to begin practicing basic skills. With most airbrush art video tutorials you will be taught to create fine detail with different strokes of the brush. With the new techniques you will do something much more fun to begin learning basic skills. You will start by creating planets and cosmic scenes! It's very important to make sure that the place where you work is well ventilated to prevent yourself from breathing paint. You may want to use a mask designed for preventing dust and particles from entering into your lungs.

Training

Many people learn airbrush on their own and many choose to take advantage of online video tutorials that are available. You can spend a lot of time searching for free materials and begin to learn some interesting things, but the best way to learn good airbrushing tricks in my opinion is with airbrushing tutorials, and classes that take you step by step and give you all the information, links and explanations that you need to get it right from the very beginning.

Keep learning

Airbrushing is an art form that has no limit. There are many ways to approach it and once you learn something, it's important to keep evolving and adding to the techniques so that you do something that is original and unique.
